The Rockwall High School Volleyball team was dealing with a problem that’s become widespread for many schools and sports team. Their website was not performing, which meant they weren’t able to take advantage of any online fan generation opportunities online.
As a nationally recognized volleyball organization, the Rockwall High School Volleyball team had primarily focused their marketing efforts on tournaments and flyers for generating new fans — a strategy that schools and teams have long relied on.
But winning games isn’t always enough in the age of digital. Online behavior has changed, and teams in every region are turning to online marketing tactics to attract more fans to games.
As the heart of their digital presence, the Rockwall High School Volleyball team's website needed to be reimagined from the ground up. After meetings, calls and an in-depth discovery period, the Social Xccess team came up with a plan that consisted of a new Content Management System (CMS). A responsive framework was developed to help the site work on any device and operating system. This made the website available to a wider audience and future-proofed it for new devices. Social Xccess also outlined a conversion funnel and user-friendly navigation to encourage more visitors to convert.
Social Xccess believes that if something can’t be measured, it can’t be improved. Therefore, the volleyball team's website was set up to easily report on traffic, site speed and other statistics. After months of planning, design, content strategy and development, the Rockwall High School Volleyball team's website officially relaunched in August of 2019 and their tournament platform launched the same month. The improvements were instantly noticeable and the increase in website traffic and fans soon followed.
