We’re living in a digital age that requires smart websites to convert audiences and attract leads, and optimizing your website to increase your customer base is the best way to get there. By adding some simple features and habits to your website, you can increase your leads tenfold via the internet. 

Here are some of our favorite ways to do it:

1. Add a lead magnet (or 2, 3, or 10!)

Looking for the very best way to increase your website leads? Add in some lead magnets, friends! Lead magnets are a value-packed resource (usually a free one) that you offer in exchange for valuable customer information — mostly, emails, phone numbers, and names. The idea? That you collect contact information for customers and clients aligned with what you offer — and that you stick out in their mind as a powerful resource for them. Here are some of our favorite lead magnet ideas:

2. Focus on a killer user experience.

One of the best ways to increase your website leads lies in making sure that your leads want to access that site of yours — and that’s where building out a smart site map comes in handy. If your audience lands on a messy, unclear, unresponsive website, odds are that they’ll click off. However, if your audience lands on a smart, well-organized, mobile-friendly, clear website? They’ll probably keep clicking around on it.

There are some really wonderful businesses (like us!) that can help you to craft a great user experience for your business website, but in the meantime you can take simple steps like cleaning up your copy, organizing your page blocks, and offering calls-to-action and contact boxes on every page you can.

3. Keep track of your stats.

Whether you utilize your website provider’s analytics function or dig deep into Google Analytics, paying attention to your website stats is an excellent way to boost your website leads. Here are some things to look for regularly:

  • What pages are your site visitors spending the most time on? How about the least time on?
  • What’s your bounce rate?
  • What’s the average age of your website visitors?
  • What industries do your website visitors belong to?
  • How are people finding your website?

4. Employ forms and pop-ups.

To increase website leads, make your site irresistible to them. Offer a place on every page for contact information to be entered, add pop-ups where appropriate (but don’t overdo it!), and create clear landing pages that correspond to your offers, services, and lead magnets. Adding in forms and pop-ups is a great way to quickly increase conversion rates, and is also key to building up a strong repertoire of leads.

5. Optimize for value.

A value-packed website is going to be one that attracts more leads — it just makes sense. Load your website with resources and relevant content that show how incredible your business is, how much knowledge you have, and how great you would be to work with. There are a few ways to do this (consistent content is a wonderful one), and it may take a while to unlock the right method for your business. However, just remember: value, value, value! It works.
